Preparation guide
Example workflow
Plan the job
Example: start with "Spring start-up, charge the system and test each zone", set the scheduled date, assign the technician and note how to access the site.
Do the work
Record the time and materials actually used, including "Set the controller programme for the season", and anything found that needs a separate quote.
Sign off and bill
Have the technician and the customer sign the completion lines, then make the invoice from the work order so the lines carry over.
An irrigation system is invisible until it fails, and then the problem is somewhere underground in one zone out of six. This work order is organised the way the technician works, zone by zone, with the hours booked against each task. It covers the spring start-up, repairs to lines and heads, and setting the controller for the season, and leaves room for the run time of each zone and the position of valve boxes, which saves time on the autumn visit.

Frequently asked questions
How do I note the run times I programmed?
In the notes, zone by zone, with the start time and days. The customer can then change them knowingly, and the next visit can see what was set.
What do I do when a zone valve will not open at all?
Note the zone and what you tested, such as the solenoid and the wiring at the controller, and whether a new valve is needed. Quote the valve if it is outside the visit.
How is the sales tax worked out on this work order?
The worked example above uses an example rate of 8%: $17.60 on a net amount of $220.00, for a total of $237.60. The editor recalculates all three when you change a quantity, a price or the country.
