Use QuoteBill inside your software
Connect QuoteBill to your accounting app, ERP or tool: an API, embeds, source-available connectors and an AI-assistant link. Free, with the limits stated.
Who this is for
QuoteBill makes quotations, invoices and other business documents, and it is free. This page is for people who build or run software that sits near a quotation or an invoice and want to use QuoteBill inside it. You do not need a partnership or a contract to start.
- Accountants and bookkeepers who want clients’ documents to start from a clean template, or who automate with a spreadsheet or a script.
- Bookkeeping and accounting apps that want to offer a document, a calculator or a template inside their own screens.
- ERP and self-hosted tools (Odoo, ERPNext and Invoice Ninja are examples) that can call a web address or run a script.
- Tools for freelancers and small shops that already hold the customer and the lines of an order.
- Agencies and developers who set this up for a client.
QuoteBill is not affiliated with, endorsed by or listed in any product named on this page, and has no partner status with any of them. A name is used only as a plain fact about what that product can do.
Four ways in
Each way works on its own. Pick the one that matches what you can change in your product.
API
You can send a web request from a server, a script or an automation tool
- What it gives you
- Create and read your own documents from a server or script, with a personal key. POST /v1/calculate works out the totals of a document, and the OpenAPI file is published at /openapi.json.
- What you need
- A free QuoteBill account, an API key made in Settings, and a server or automation tool that can send an HTTPS request with a header. The guide is in English.

Embeds
You can paste a snippet into a page
- What it gives you
- A frame or snippet you paste into a page: a template with its Excel and Word downloads, the VAT and GST calculator, the currency converter, document totals and a template finder, all listed on an overview page.
- What you need
- A web page where you can add an iframe or a snippet. No key and no account.
Status Live.
Connectors
You use n8n, Google Sheets, WordPress, Zapier or Make
- What it gives you
- Source-available code and written recipes for tools people already use: a JavaScript SDK, an n8n node, a Google Sheets script, Zapier and Make recipes, a WordPress plugin, and recipes for Odoo, ERPNext, Akaunting and Invoice Ninja. The recipes are written, not tested against real installs.
- What you need
- The tool itself, an API key, and willingness to download and install code yourself.
Status Live as downloads. Not listed in any marketplace. Not yet run inside n8n, Google Sheets or WordPress.
AI assistants (MCP)
Your users already ask ChatGPT or Claude
- What it gives you
- People ask an AI app in plain words to draft a document, read a sample contract, work out tax or convert a currency.
- What you need
- A free QuoteBill account and an AI app that accepts connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT on the web. Sign in and choose Allow.

Start in about ten minutes
Three steps for each way.
API
- Sign in, confirm your e-mail address, open Company settings and make an API key (valid 30, 90 or 365 days). Copy it at once: it is shown once.
- Check it from a server or script with GET /v1/ping and the header Authorization: Bearer followed by your key. Never put the key in a web page.
- Create a draft with POST /v1/documents and open the editor_url it returns to check and send the document. The guide lists every field and limit.
Embeds
- Open the public page of what you want to show: a template page, the VAT and GST calculator or the currency converter.
- Copy the snippet the page offers and paste it into your page, where your page allows an iframe.
- Check it at a phone width. The frame carries a credit link back to QuoteBill that no setting removes.

Connectors
- Download the package for your tool from the links under these steps. It is source-available code and is not published in any directory.
- Unzip it and install it yourself in your n8n, Google Sheets, WordPress, Zapier or Make, or add the SDK to your project, and give it an API key made in Settings. For Odoo, ERPNext, Akaunting or Invoice Ninja, follow the written recipe.
- Make a test document, open its editor_url, and only then use the connector in a real workflow.

AI assistants (MCP)
- Open the guide for your AI app and copy the connector address, https://quotebill.com/mcp.
- In the AI app add a custom connector with that address and choose Connect.
- Sign in to QuoteBill, choose Allow, and ask in plain words, for example to draft a quotation or work out VAT.
Honest limits
We will help you integrate
If you are building something and want to use QuoteBill in it, send us a message: what your software does, who uses it and which way you would like to connect. We will tell you what is possible today and what is not.
Questions
Do I need to sign a partnership agreement?
No. The API, the embeds and the AI connection work with a free QuoteBill account (the embeds need none), under QuoteBill’s terms of use and the limits above.
Can my software call QuoteBill without a plugin?
Yes, if it can send an HTTPS request with a header. The API is plain JSON over HTTPS; many tools call this an HTTP request, a webhook action or a custom API call. Keep the key on your server.
Can I show a QuoteBill document inside my app?
Today in two ways: the template and calculator embeds, or the editor_url the API returns, which opens the draft in QuoteBill’s editor. There are also document-totals and template-finder embeds.
Can my users sign contracts through my software?
Not through the API: it does not create or send contracts. E-Contracts work inside QuoteBill, where a member makes the contract, sends the signing link and the other side signs without an account. QuoteBill is not a certified e-signature service.
Is there a QuoteBill app in the Xero, QuickBooks, Odoo or another marketplace?
No. QuoteBill is not listed in any marketplace today, and no vendor has certified or endorsed it. The connectors on this page are source-available code, not marketplace apps.
What happens if I reach a limit?
A request over 60 a minute or 5,000 a day gets a 429 answer with the seconds to wait, and documents past 500 a day are refused until the next UTC day. If you need more, tell us what you are building through the contact page; we cannot promise a change.
Odoo, ERPNext, Akaunting, Invoice Ninja, n8n, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, WordPress, Xero, QuickBooks, Claude and ChatGPT are products and trademarks of their owners.
