What’s new in QuoteBill

  1. · Version 1.30.0

Templates and tools in more languages, 20 new guides, and a way back to the top

Quotation and invoice templates, the VAT and GST calculators and the currency converter are now written in 29 more languages, with calculator pages for countries where a language is official. A link to the editor can carry a country, a currency and a language, so a tax page can open an invoice set up for that country. Twenty new guides in English and Korean answer common questions, such as how to write an invoice, how to price freelance work and when to use an NDA; the guides page is grouped by topic, and the Japan and Germany invoice guides follow the latest rules. A button takes you back to the top of long pages. The sample contract cards and their descriptions are written in all 33 languages. An AI assistant connected to QuoteBill can look up the text of a sample contract, work out VAT or GST and convert a currency. The menu has a Tools entry, and this release log is new.

A small API for invoices from a spreadsheet, Make, Zapier or n8n

A signed-in member with a confirmed email address can make up to five personal API keys in Settings, valid for 30, 90 or 365 days. With a key, a script or an automation tool such as Make, Zapier or n8n creates a draft document in your own account, lists your documents and reads one. The draft opens in the editor for you to check and send. The API cannot send or sign contracts, send email, edit or delete documents or change your settings. The limits are 60 requests a minute and 5,000 a day for each key. The guide is in English.

    A currency converter for invoices

A Convert the total panel in the invoice editor shows the total in another currency at the European Central Bank’s daily euro reference rate (about thirty currencies, one fixing per working day, shown with its date) or at a rate you type. Nothing in the invoice changes unless you press Add a note to the document, which adds one line marked as for information only. The same converter has a page of its own under Tools. Cross rates through the euro are indicative, not what a bank or a payment provider will give you.

  4. · Version 1.26.0

Two more sample contracts for creators: 119 in all

A video editor engagement for YouTube, TikTok and other short-form video, and a licence for AI-assisted artwork join the samples. The licence says that the law on copyright in AI-generated images is unsettled and that the tools’ own terms matter, so it promises no protection. The influencer collaboration and sponsorship samples are now titled influencer sponsorship agreement, so they are easier to find. They are samples to edit, not legal advice.

  5. · Version 1.25.0

VAT and GST calculators for 151 countries

Add tax to a net price or take it out of a price that already includes it, with an optional deduction such as withholding at a rate you type. A page for each of 151 countries shows the tax’s name, the standard rate, where the rate comes from and the date it was checked. Countries where the rate depends on a state or on what is supplied are left out rather than guessed. Reduced rates, exemptions and thresholds are not covered: it is a calculator, not tax advice. The pages are in English, Korean, Japanese and German.

A quiet note for the people who sign your contracts

After someone signs a contract, and on the public check of a completed contract, they see one quiet card saying QuoteBill is free for quotations, invoices and contracts, with two links that carry only a campaign tag. It never appears before they sign, on a declined or voided contract, in print, in the certificate or evidence file, or for you as the owner, and it changes nothing in the contract or its evidence.

  7. · Version 1.23.0

Twelve templates for specific jobs: 250 in all

New prefilled templates cover a translator, a translator’s timesheet invoice, a freelance writer, a video editor, audio transcription, voice-over, a content creator, house cleaning, coaching, personal-trainer lessons, a taxi ride and an estimate for building a deck. Each has its own page, an example and a short note on what to check, in 33 languages. The wording stays plain: no tax rates, a receipt records a payment and nothing else, and an estimate is not a contract until the client accepts it.

Contract editor: Next and Previous stay in view, and the paper is clickable

A bar at the top of the contract editor stays in view while you scroll, says how many blanks are left and has Previous and Next buttons (on a keyboard, Alt plus the Down or Up arrow key). In your own draft you can also click a highlighted blank on the document and type right there, or click a clause or a party to land in its field. Nothing changes for the people who sign, on the status page or in print and PDF.

Like a template and see how templates rank

Signed-in members can press the heart on any document template or sample contract, and press it again to take the like back. A template with likes shows its rank and its number of likes on its card and its rank on its own page, and lists put the most liked first once there are likes. Only totals are public: nobody can see who liked what, and the likes of a deleted account are removed from the totals.

  10. · Version 1.20.0

117 sample contracts in ten groups

The samples grew from 47 to 117 and are sorted into ten groups: Creative and design; Software and technology; Services; Sales and commercial deals; Partnerships and preliminary agreements; Employment and hiring; Property, construction and vehicles; Money, debts and guarantees; Intellectual property and licences; and Household, learning and community. The new ones cover jobs such as construction works, property management, copyright assignment, data processing, tutoring and childcare. In some countries a guarantee, a fixed-term employment contract or an acknowledgment of debt can be invalid unless it is on paper with a handwritten signature, and the cards for those say so. They are samples, not legal advice.

  11. · Version 1.19.0

Two more sample contracts: 47 in all

A managed service with a setup fee, a monthly fee and usage charges, and a paid pilot join the samples. Both have their own pages in English, Korean, Japanese and German, with the first page as a picture, a plain line for every clause and the whole sample text. They are samples to edit, not legal advice.

  12. · Version 1.18.0

E-Contracts saves your draft as you type

A contract draft now saves itself shortly after you stop typing and tells you when it could not, trying again on its own. The sending page remembers who signs and how, so a reload or a sign-in no longer starts you over, and an older sign-in is renewed in a dialog without leaving the page. Fewer blanks need typing, contract dates take a four-digit year and move on by themselves, and Enter moves to the next field that still needs attention.

  13. · Version 1.17.0

Thirteen more templates and a printed title of your own

Payment reminders and notices, an acceptance certificate, an order confirmation, a request for quotation, a debit note, a refund note, a timesheet, a price list and a project proposal took the document templates to 238. A new Printed title field lets any document print under a title of its own in the preview, in print and PDF, and in the Word and Excel files; left empty, a document prints its type’s name as before.

  14. · Version 1.16.0

Ten more sample contracts: 45 in all

New samples cover a photo and image release, a performance and booking agreement, a monthly retainer, a release of liability and waiver, a simple employment agreement, a bill of sale, a lease of non-residential premises, an affiliate or referral agreement, a loan agreement with a promissory note, and a settlement and payment commitment. Each has its own page in four languages, a plain line for every clause and a short note on what to check, because the law on employment, lending, tenancy and waivers differs by country. They are samples to edit, not legal advice.

  15. · Version 1.15.0

See a contract before you open it, plus five new guides

The list of contract templates, each template’s own page and the new-contract screen now show the first page of every sample, with the blanks you fill in highlighted. Five guides were added in English and Korean, among them how to fill in a free invoice template in Excel, Word or PDF and a plain account of what a free e-signature does and does not do. The privacy notice also explains the small note kept for up to 30 days about how a visit began: it holds nothing that identifies you and is not kept if your browser asks not to be tracked.

  16. · Version 1.14.0

35 sample contracts, 32 document designs and a plainer privacy notice

E-Contracts grew from five sample contracts to 35, in five groups, each with its own public page in English, Korean, Japanese and German. They are samples to edit, not legal advice. Quotations, invoices and the other documents gained 20 more designs, 32 in all, and the design you choose carries into print, PDF, Word and Excel. The privacy notice now says plainly that a QuoteBill administrator can open a document you saved to the cloud, read-only, to help with support, and that every such view is recorded in an access log.
