Free embeds: calculators and templates for your site

Accounting software, accountants’ blogs and small-business sites can show QuoteBill’s tools to their own readers: copy one snippet, paste it into a page, done. No account, no key and no agreement needed, and no fee.

Each embed below says what it does and offers its code under “Get the code”, with its language, its size and a live preview.

A template

One of QuoteBill’s 536 templates: its name, what it is for, its first lines, the Excel and Word downloads (free for QuoteBill members; a visitor who is not signed in gets the sign-up page in a new tab) and a link back. Every template page has its code at its foot; here you can pick any template.

Drawn in English, Korean, Japanese or German.

All templates

VAT and GST calculator

Adds tax to a net amount or takes it out of a gross one, with a country to choose (any of the 151 in QuoteBill’s tax data, starting from its standard rate and currency) or a rate the visitor types. Each country’s page also offers that country’s own calculator.

In all 33 languages of the site. Worked out in the visitor’s browser.

The VAT and GST calculator

Currency converter

Converts an amount between the euro and the currencies the European Central Bank publishes a daily reference rate for, as QuoteBill’s own converter does.

In all 33 languages of the site. Its code asks QuoteBill’s own server for the day’s rates; the amount typed is never sent.

The currency converter

Document totals calculator

Line items in (quantity, unit price, discount), subtotal, tax and total out, worked out by the very code QuoteBill’s editor and its downloads use: each line rounded to the currency’s decimals, then each tax on the subtotal, half up. The country’s standard rate (Canada’s by province), a rate the visitor types, or no tax.

In English, Korean, Japanese and German. Worked out in the visitor’s browser: nothing typed is sent or stored. Its credit leads to the free invoice editor.

Template finder

A country and a kind of document in (invoice, quotation, receipt, contract and seven more), QuoteBill’s matching templates out: the ones made for that country first, then the ones that fit any country, each with a link to its page and to its Excel and Word files. Covers the 536 document templates and the 119 contract templates.

In English, Korean, Japanese and German. The catalogue travels with the page: nothing is looked up elsewhere.

What is true of every embed

  • Each embed carries a link back to QuoteBill that no setting removes, and each snippet adds a plain credit link to QuoteBill under the frame, on your own page.
  • The calculators, the converter, the totals calculator and the template finder start without the rest of the site: no account code, no analytics or visit counting, no ads, no cookie banner, chat or pop-ups, and their code writes no cookies and stores nothing in the browser.
  • The totals calculator and the template finder work everything out in the page: their code asks no server for anything. The converter’s code asks QuoteBill’s server for the day’s rates. None of them sends what a visitor types.
  • The template embed is a page of the main site: it uses the site’s usual sign-in code, so QuoteBill’s privacy notice applies as on any page. It shows no ads.
  • Only the embeds may be shown inside a frame on another site; every other page of QuoteBill refuses to be framed.
  • The embeds ask search engines not to list them (their pages are what search shows), and the snippets hold no script.

Letting the frame grow with its content (optional)

The totals calculator and the template finder tell the page around them how tall they are, each time that changes: a message of the type “quotebill:embed-height” with the embed’s name and a height in pixels, nothing else. To use it, add this script once to your page; it accepts the message only from quotebill.com and only for the frame that sent it. Without it, the frame keeps the snippet’s height and scrolls inside itself.

Optional script for your page
<script>
window.addEventListener('message', function (event) {
  if (event.origin !== 'https://quotebill.com' || !event.data || event.data.type !== 'quotebill:embed-height') return;
  var height = Math.min(4000, Math.max(120, Number(event.data.height) || 0));
  document.querySelectorAll('iframe[src^="https://quotebill.com/"]').forEach(function (frame) {
    if (frame.contentWindow === event.source) frame.style.height = height + 'px';
  });
});
</script>
