Preparation guide
Example workflow
Confirm scope and quantities
Example: start with "Audit plan and page sample", confirm the required quantity and client inputs, then agree completion criteria for each item.
Review and approve the quotation
Confirm acceptance evidence for "Retest after fixes", all line quantities, exclusions and quote validity with the customer, and retain the approved version.
Deliver and prepare billing
Link subject identifiers to results and deliver observations and agreed follow-up actions. When the agreed milestone is complete, prepare an invoice using actual quantities and approved changes.
An accessibility audit checks whether people who use a keyboard, a screen reader or magnification can actually use a website. Automated tools find only part of the problems, so most of the effort is manual testing, and that is where the price lies. Because a site of three hundred pages is usually built from a handful of templates, this quotation prices manual testing per template, adds an automated scan of the whole site, and keeps the report and the later retest on their own lines.
Fields to prepare
- Deliverables and line items
- Audit plan and page sample, Automated scan of the whole site, Keyboard and screen reader testing, per page template, Findings report with fixes, Retest after fixes: specify the planned quantity and delivery scope for each item.
- Audit plan and page sample
- Name the guideline and conformance level, and list the page templates and key journeys, such as checkout, chosen for testing.
- Automated scan of the whole site
- Say the scan covers every page but finds only part of the issues, which is why manual testing follows.
- Keyboard and screen reader testing, per page template
- Give the browsers and assistive technologies used, and count each template, such as article, product and form, once.
- Findings report with fixes
- Say what each finding includes: where it occurs, who it affects and how to fix it.
- Retest after fixes
- Give the period within which the retest must be ordered, and say it covers only findings from this report.
- Subjects and quantities
- Record sample, asset or site counts, identifiers, test items and accessible areas.
- Method and report
- Specify agreed methods, report format, delivery deadline and whether retesting is included.
- Scope to agree
- Name the guideline and level you test against, price manual testing per page template rather than per page, and keep the retest separate from the first report.

Frequently asked questions
Can the report state that the site is legally compliant?
No. The report says which criteria passed or failed on the pages tested. Whether that meets a legal duty in a given country is for the client to assess with its own advisers.
Should fixing the issues be in this quotation?
Keep it separate. The audit describes the fixes; making them is development work, often done by the client's own team. You can offer it as an option with its own estimate.
How is the sales tax worked out on this quotation?
The worked example above uses an example rate of 8%: $375.20 on a net amount of $4,690.00, for a total of $5,065.20. The editor recalculates all three when you change a quantity, a price or the country.
How do I turn an approved quotation into an invoice?
Open the approved quotation and convert it. The original stays unchanged, and the invoice carries the same line items so the customer can match the two documents.
Can I use it in another language or currency?
Yes. The document language can be set to any of 33 languages, and changing the country setting updates the currency, the date format and the tax rate.
