Preparation guide
Example workflow
Confirm scope and quantities
Example: start with "Logo concept sketches", confirm the required quantity and client inputs, then agree completion criteria for each item.
Review and approve the quotation
Confirm acceptance evidence for "Logo usage guide", all line quantities, exclusions and quote validity with the customer, and retain the approved version.
Deliver and prepare billing
Hand over approved versions and a file manifest, confirming usage scope and completed revisions. When the agreed milestone is complete, prepare an invoice using actual quantities and approved changes.
Before any sketch exists, the client wants to know what they will see and when: how many design directions are shown, how many rounds of changes follow, and which files arrive at the end. This template answers those three questions with three lines, the concepts, the final vector artwork and a short usage guide. Independent designers and small studios use it for start-ups, shops and associations that need a mark they can print, embroider and show on screen.

Frequently asked questions
When do the rights to the logo pass to the client?
Write it in the quotation, for example on full payment of the final invoice; until then the concepts are for review only. How rights are transferred differs between countries, so check the rules where you work.
What if the client rejects all the concepts?
Say in advance what happens: a new round of concepts at a stated price, or ending the job with the concept fee paid. Clients accept the rule more easily when it was written down before the first presentation.
Are trademark searches part of the design fee?
Most designers exclude them and suggest the client asks a trademark professional. Write the exclusion in the notes, so it is clear that the fee covers design work and not a legal search.
How is the sales tax worked out on this quotation?
The worked example above uses an example rate of 8%: $640.80 on a net amount of $8,010.00, for a total of $8,650.80. The editor recalculates all three when you change a quantity, a price or the country.
Can I change the layout and colour?
Yes. The editor offers other layouts and a document colour for the printed page. Changing them moves no figure: the lines and totals stay as they are, and the PDF, Word and Excel files follow the layout you pick.
