Frequently asked questions
How long should the quoted price stay valid?
Timber and board prices move, so give a validity date on the quotation, often a few weeks, and say that materials are ordered after the deposit is paid. If the client signs after that date, re-check supplier prices before you confirm the order.
What if the room measurements differ from the drawings on installation day?
Note in the quotation whether the price rests on dimensions you measured on site or ones the client supplied, with the date. Adjustments within the fitting allowance are included; rebuilding a piece because a wall is elsewhere is a change you quote separately.
How is the sales tax worked out on this quotation?
The worked example above uses an example rate of 8%: $179.20 on a net amount of $2,240.00, for a total of $2,419.20. The editor recalculates all three when you change a quantity, a price or the country.
