Preparation guide
Example workflow
Confirm scope and quantities
Example: start with "Made-to-measure carcasses, per linear metre", confirm the required quantity and client inputs, then agree completion criteria for each item.
Review and approve the quotation
Confirm acceptance evidence for "Fitting and scribing to walls and ceiling", all line quantities, exclusions and quote validity with the customer, and retain the approved version.
Deliver and prepare billing
Confirm completed quantities, site photos, agreed test results and any remaining remedial work. When the agreed milestone is complete, prepare an invoice using actual quantities and approved changes.
Fitted wardrobes are built for one alcove or one wall, which is why clients pay for them and why misunderstandings are expensive. The quotation should match a drawing that shows the width, the height to the ceiling, the doors and every rail, drawer and shelf inside. This template prices the carcasses by length and the doors one by one, so changing from hinged to sliding doors, or adding drawers, changes one line instead of the whole figure.

- Materials and work stages
- Specify materials, labor, removal, disposal and making-good allowances, and completion criteria for each stage.

Frequently asked questions
What if the client changes the internal layout after ordering?
State on the quotation that the layout is fixed when the drawing is signed and the boards are cut. Later changes are priced as extras, with any wasted material listed.
Do I quote lighting inside the wardrobe?
If the client wants it, add a line with the type of light and how it switches on. Note whether a nearby socket is needed and who installs it, since that may be an electrician’s work.
How is the sales tax worked out on this quotation?
The worked example above uses an example rate of 8%: $306.72 on a net amount of $3,834.00, for a total of $4,140.72. The editor recalculates all three when you change a quantity, a price or the country.
How do I turn an approved quotation into an invoice?
Open the approved quotation and convert it. The original stays unchanged, and the invoice carries the same line items so the customer can match the two documents.
Can I change the layout and colour?
Yes. The editor offers other layouts and a document colour for the printed page. Changing them moves no figure: the lines and totals stay as they are, and the PDF, Word and Excel files follow the layout you pick.
