What it is
A sales activity report is the short record that a salesperson hands in at the end of a day or a week. It answers what a manager actually wants to know: whom did you see, what happened, what moved in the pipeline, how are you against your targets, and what comes next? Written the same way every time, it also becomes the trail that lets someone else pick up an account.
This template covers both the daily and the weekly report. You list each contact with the customer, the person met and the result, and choose a type: call, visit, meeting, online meeting or email. The sheet counts the contacts by type for you. A pipeline table records the deals that changed stage with their value, and a targets table works out the attainment in per cent for each measure and the average. The page closes with next actions, room for observations and issues, and a line for the manager's comment or, in Korea and Japan, the customary approval boxes.
When to use it
- You hand in a report to a manager at the end of every day or week.
- You want a consistent record of customer contacts that others can read later.
- You need to show progress against targets without building a spreadsheet each time.
- You cover accounts for a colleague and have to hand over what happened.
How to fill it in
- Choose daily or weekly and enter the date. For a week, enter the first day and the sheet shows the whole period.
- List each contact: when, customer, person met, the type and what came of it. The counts at the top update at once.
- Add the deals that changed stage, with their value and expected close date.
- Enter each target and the actual result; the attainment is worked out per row and on average.
- Write the next actions with dates, add observations or issues if you have any, then print for the manager or download Word or Excel.
Common mistakes
- Describing activity without a result. "Visited" is not a result; write what was decided or what comes next.
- Putting several contacts into one row, which makes the counts too low.
- Entering a target of zero or leaving it empty, so that no attainment is shown for that line.
- Moving a deal back and forth in the pipeline table without a note on why.
- Putting private details about customers into a report that is passed around widely.

Your details fill it in
Fields that ask for your name, address or company details are filled from My details, so you do not type them again; you can still change any field for one form. Signed in, your details stay in your account; otherwise they stay in this browser only. A passport, identity or social security number is never saved.
Questions
- How are calls, visits and meetings counted?
- Each row counts once, by the type you choose. Online meetings count with meetings, and rows without a type are not counted.
- How is the attainment worked out?
- Actual divided by target, times 100, for each row. The average takes only the rows that have a target and leaves out the others.
- Can a whole team use it?
- The sheet is written for one person. In a team each person files a report, and the Excel downloads are easy to combine.
- What do the Korean and Japanese versions change?
- They add the approval boxes at the top and the local titles and headings. The sums work the same way.
- Is this form legal, tax or accounting advice?
- No. It is a template: it gives you the usual structure and wording, not advice. Rules differ by country and case, so have someone qualified read anything that matters before you sign, send or file it.
- Which countries and designs does it come in?
- It comes in 3 country versions: International, Korea, and Japan. 12 designs.
